Don't really need to upgrade HW to run W11, that could be easily bypassed and W10 will still be viable for next few years, just up the security a bit. By that time, your HW will be so obsolete even Linux will not help.

Some less, some more.
But the "unconscious" or "intuitive" or "gut feeling" is the result of the massively parallel processing ability that almost all humans possess.
Unfortunately, many of those processes' input are not critically evaluated and the output is ... questionable.. ie GIGO.

Then why does many Linux apps suck and feel half done? Applications is the biggest reason why people won't switch from Windows

Even 3 would be too many but what's referred to as fragmented would be those hundreds of distros.

Just because something happens as some rare occurrence because of some even rarer error, it doesn't mean It's "unmitigated dumpster fire of an operating system". If it happened to all or most, or even just many, than OK, they pulled back some updates for a while to fix but no way it's like that all the time. 24H2 is so much better for me that I would never even think of reverting to 23H2.

Invented on Linux? Then there should be the Linux version of the app. How can it be developed on Linux but is Windows only app?

How many times have you received a email goes into the to-do folder and then 2 minutes after receiving it get a Teams or Slack ping "Hey did you see my email...."

But i realise, at least my brain, do the really fast processing before my consciousness is presented with the information. It sums up the most important things in a few milliseconds and serves it just fast enough for me to understand. Such as what a facial expression means. It's a damn sharp machine! I have no complaints, it has saved my life several times.

Honestly, the only Windows computer I own is my work laptop. My other systems (this one included) are Linux. I usually run openSUSE on my desktops, and my laptops have RHEL flavors on them. I can't imagine even owning a computer with Windows.

Linux isn't really fragmented, I like to think of it as being similar to the US cellular networks, you have the big 3 networks, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T, and then you have the MVNO networks which are usually much cheaper but they all just piggyback their services from the big 3 for better or worse.

I just don't think an unstable version is appropriate for someone new to Linux. Ubuntu, KDE Plasma, etc, are all available in stable and long term releases. If I were recommending a distro to someone with little or no experience in Linux, that's the direction I would guide them.

They'll adjust to Linux, particularly if they have a older computer that can't handle windows 11.
